Finding funding for a small company looking to grow can be difficult to source. Banks may not want to grant a loan of the size you need due to not believing you will be able to repay it, and you may be hesitant to allow investors to buy shares in your company which could lower the control you have.

Grant funding is a great way to raise fund for projects that you hope can increase revenue in your company, but you may find that your company has not been eligible for the grants on offer, or even if you were eligible your application was rejected.

If you have not been able to obtain grant funding before, Innovate will be offering a new grant – the Fast Start Innovation grant – where UK registered small and micro businesses can apply for a share of up to £30 million for affordable, adoptable and investable innovations in net zero and Healthcare.

In order to be eligible for the grant, the company applying must not have been previously awarded funding from Innovate UK – companies with Directors who have previously received a grant or loan from Innovate UK as part of a different company will be eligible to apply, but will be considered on a case by case basis.

Applications open on Monday 11 July 2022 and close two weeks later on 26 July 2022.

Ideas must focus on achieving net zero or self-driven healthcare, and you should be able to show how your new technology can enable affordable, adoptable and investable innovations in these areas.

Innovate are keen to see ideas that will develop your business and catalyse further innovation on the company’s path to success.

Funding will be between £25,000 and £50,000.
