Harry, Joe, Eve, Rachel, Molly, Tyler and Will from our team helped out in September at another successful volunteering day as part of Rotary Thame’s Business in the Community project.
This time they went to Tiggywinkles Wildlife Hospital in Haddenham, Buckinghamshire.
Tiggywinkles do a fantastic job rescuing sick and injured wild animals and birds, and releasing them back into the wild where possible. Tiggywinkles is the world’s busiest wildlife hospital, but does not receive any government or lottery funding, relying instead on donations from the general public and sponsors.
During the day our team, and volunteers from other local companies were split into smaller groups to work on the different sections of the site. Each group was given an area to paint, which included fences, railings, posts, gates, and picnic benches.
Eve Pilley from our team said “It was enjoyable to work within our teams on the smaller tasks, and to see the progress that we made throughout the day. We were also treated to a tour of the animals and a guide through the animal hospital afterwards where we saw what great work the wildlife hospital does.”
The staff of Tiggywinkles were delighted and amazed at the amount of work completed, and our team had a really enjoyable and rewarding day.
