Your career at Richardsons
We hope that these pages have given you an idea of what it would be like to train with Richardsons. We are looking to employ staff who are attracted by the idea of working in a small, friendly team, and who have a genuine commitment to further study. Applicants should have a strong academic record, but we are happy to consider students from all subject-backgrounds.
The current starting salary for graduates working towards the ACA qualification is £15,500 per annum. For A-level students working towards the AAT qualification the starting salary is £12,400 per annum. The level of salary increases in subsequent years will depend upon a number of factors including experience and exam success. Post-qualification opportunities are good, with employees being encouraged to get involved in management, training, and other practice development activities.
Whilst a number of trainees choose to stay with Richardsons after qualification, those who have decided to move on have found their training experience to be a strong foundation for a wide variety of careers. Those students staying in practice have moved to both “big four” and mid-tier firms, specialising in, for example, audit or tax. Others have chosen careers in industry, either continuing to work in finance, or moving into general management roles.
