Venturefest 2012 at the Said Business School in Oxford was a great success, with interesting presentations and a fine opportunity to make contact with friends old and new. We even had moderate weather for the first time in living memory; roasting inside a badly-ventilated tent is my abiding memory from many a Venturefest in the past!! Some fascinating presentations by companies looking to raise finance took place in the Nelson Mandela Lecture Theatre, efficiently organised by Oxford Investment Opportunity Network and our sponsored angel network, Oxford Early Investments. Lots of interesting visitors came to the Richardsons stand, where many of my colleagues offered help, advice and sweets.
Also at our stand, there was the opportunity to take part in our bean-counting competition, which is now a regular feature of Richardsons at Venturefest. The highly-skilled winner of the competition is Julian Poulter of Lamp-360. A magnum of champagne will soon be on its way to Julian! For those of you that took part and can’t wait to find out how close you were, the actual number of beans in the jar was 1163.
